Traffic calming measures for Main Street in Headford could be on the way, as the Galway County Council has sought a feasibility study and report on the issue.
The local authority has asked engineering and project management consultants, O'Connor Sutton Cronin, to carry out the study and report with regard to vehicular movement, pedestrians, and parking. The report will take five to six weeks to complete, after which it will be on display for people in the area to examine.
The report has been welcomed by Fianna Fáil councillor, Mary Hoade, who said "traffic calming and parking measures are needed" in the area.
