NUI Galway Students’ Union has opened applications for charities wishing to benefit from its annual fundraising campaign for 2020/21.
Last year students took part in cake sales, table quizzes, comedy gigs, pet farm visits, and collection days to raise €10,000 for Domestic Violence Response and Sexual Health West.
This year the SU will be introducing its new Charity Challenge which will involve students completing a different challenge each month during term from October to May. Application forms for the 2020/21 fund are available from www.su.nuigalway.ie The closing date is 5pm Thursday September 10.
“Despite the constant cutbacks and daily challenges we all face, NUI Galway students have a very proud tradition of raising money for charities," said SU president Pádraic Toomey. "Charity Challenge will see students will take on a different challenge that will be adaptable to the challenges of living with Covid-19."
