An Bord Pleanála is working on a strategy to allow a resumption of the oral hearing for projects across the State, including the Galway City Ring Road.
Fine Gael senator Seán Kyne received confirmation from An Bord Pleanála this week, including that it is "re-assessing the matter of the oral hearing" for the GCRR and will "consider all options". This follows a suggestion by Sen Kyne that video conferencing and multiple rooms or venues be used to complete the GCRR oral hearing.
“We now have had a six month delay in the process for the Ring Road due to Covid," he said. "While public health and protection from Covid has to be of paramount concern, we need to resume planning for projects like the Ring Road for the benefit of the people of Galway.”
