CREATIVITY IS often a solitary pursuit, but the title of this new exhibition also reflects how, despite the recent Lockdown, many artists remained creative despite the imposed 'solitude' Lockdown and social distancing demanded.
Creation In Solitude is a new exhibition by Ciara Mohan and Lisa Della Chisa, featuring graphic illustrations and abstract textiles. It opens in Kinvara Courthouse tomorrow [Friday August 28] and runs until Sunday September 6. It is presented by Kinvara Area Visual Arts.
Mohan and Della Chiesa are students at the National College of Art and Design. Mohan's work is strongly connected to nature and the sea, and she creates art from everyday objects. Della Chiesa’s Italian and Irish heritage strongly inspires her work. She explores the exaggeration of the human silhouette and her work focuses mainly on body dysmorphia. She constructs her work with zero-waste cutting and sources only sustainable materials that are produced in Ireland.
