Empathy and commitment
“Valerie has been chosen as winner of Galway Carer of the Year because of her genuine, friendly manner; her ability to put people at ease; and the level of pride in her work, always going above and beyond in all that she does.
“The empathy that she has for clients and commitment to providing the highest level of compassionate care is really remarkable. As a client put it to us recently, ‘she is like a breath of fresh air she is very experienced and excellent person.’ Her warm demeanour and sense of humour make her the perfect carer and we are so grateful to have her on the team her at Right at Home Galway.”
Connecting with my clients and making them feel comfortable and valued is my priority in this line of work
“We have started these awards to recognise the hard work of Right at Home team members who provide exceptional care to their clients, carrying out their roles in line with Right at Home’s values of respect, dignity and trust; and who go the extra mile with humour, kindness and a personal touch. This has been even more important in recent times, give the extremely challenging environment in which our carers have had to operate due to the ongoing pandemic. Valerie exemplifies these attributes and we’re very grateful to have her as a part of the Right at Home team.”
Spreading positivity
Speaking about her award today, winner Valerie IIuyemi said it is a great surprise and pleasure to be given this award.
“I’m really delighted to be recognised in this way. I love what I do and working with the people that I provide care to. Every person has their own story and their own personality, and I love to get to know each of them and come in and have a chat.
“That to me is the most important part of the work. Connecting with my clients and making them feel comfortable and valued is my priority in this line of work. I’m very grateful and honoured to receive this award and will continue to spread more positivity.”
