The Galway County Council will begin improvement works on the Mausrevagh and Clooneen roads next week.
A total of €30,000 will be spent on two community involvement schemes which will see the removal of dangerous bends and the setting back of walls. Fianna Fáil councillor, Mary Hoade, who has worked with the local community and landowners, and campaigned for this work to take place, has welcomed the confirmation that the works will start.
"Special thanks is due to the land owners and the local community for their support," she said. "This work will be complete before schools re-opens at the end of the month."
