Fantasy Football round 37 preview

In association with Monroes

There are only two rounds of the Premier League left and while the race for Champions League remains no clearer and the fight to stave off relegation continues, what we do know is that Liverpool will not reach the magical 100 point mark because of a 2-1 defeat away to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

But like most game weeks since restart, there is no rest for Fantasy managers. So let's look at the players who will do the business in round 37 and get your team moving up the ladder in the Advertiser Tribal League in association with Monroe's Tavern.

Top picks

Gabriel Jesus (Man City - £9.8 million ) v Watford

After a slow restart, The Citizens' Brazilian striker has found his scoring boots with three goals in the last three games plus two assists. Jesus has always been a confidence player so when he scores once or twice, he tends to go a scoring run and with Sergio Agüero out of the rest of the season, the number nine is guaranteed to start. On Tuesday, the dethroned champions travel to London to take on Watford who fighting tooth and nail to avoid the drop. While Watford have enjoyed a decent run of form in the last couple of games, I don't think their defence will hold up against City's powerful attack and Jesus. Get him in your team.

Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal - £9.2 million ) v Aston Villa

Another striker who took a few games to get up to speed was Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchmen failed to trouble the score keepers until slotting home against Wolves and now has three goals in four appearances as well as an assist. On Tuesday, The Gunners make the trip to Birmingham to take on relegation placed Aston Villa. While Dean Smith's side have shown fight in the last number of weeks their defence is still one of the most porous in the entire league. I'm going for an Arsenal win and Lacazette to be on the scoresheet.

Heung-Min Son (Spurs - £9.6 million ) v Leicester City

Whisper it quietly but Spurs are hitting a wee bit of form in the latter stages of the season with 10 points from a possible 12. One man who looks to be regathering his confidence and form is winger Heung-Min Son. The South Korean ace seems to have reacted positively to captain Hugo Lloris' savaging against Everton by scoring two times in his last two outings. On Sunday, Spurs host Leicester City in north London. Lockdown has not been kind to the Foxes who continue to produce Jekyll and Hyde performances. I think Spurs will win this with Son helping himself to more goals.
