HOLLYWOOD STAR Keith Carradine and directors Joe Dante and Nicole Holofcener will be given free, online, public talks, this weekend as part of the Galway Film Fleadh.
Entitled 'In Conversation', the talks will take place via www.galwayfilmfleadh.com. Keith Carradine's talk is on Saturday July 11 at 2pm; Joe Dante is on Saturday July 11 at 12 noon, and Nicole Holofcener is on Sunday July 12 at 12 noon.
Part of the Carradine dynasty of actors, Keith Carradine has starred in more than 70 films including Thieves Like Us, Nashville, Welcome to LA, Pretty Baby, The Duellists, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, Cowboys and Aliens, and A Quiet Passion. He also wrote and sang 'I’m Easy' for Nashville and won an Oscar for best original song. He recently finished production on Jane Campion’s new film, The Power Of The Dog.Joe Dante has directed the comedy-horror classic Gremlins, as well as episodes of Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, and Police Squad! In his talk he will discuss political allegories in genre cinema and how the Cuban Missile Crisis impacted on him as a child.
Nicole Holofcener has directed episodes of Orange Is the New Black, Inside Amy Schumer, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Parks and Recreation, and Sex In The City. She also wrote the screenplay for Can You Ever Forgive Me? She will talk about making films in the current market place; attracting top-flight casts to low-budget films; and Oscar success with Can You Ever Forgive Me?All sessions are free but must be booked in advance via www.galwayfilmfleadh.com.
