Dott - an upbeat summer single about social anxiety

Song gives taste of what will come on band's third album...eventually, once we're out of Lockdown for good

AN ARTICLE on the satirical website Reductress recently, pointed out - and with a high degree of accuracy - how introverts are having "a ball" during lockdown.

For everyone else, introverted behaviour has been imposed by the needs of not catching Covid-19 and is a mode of being and of behaviour which does not come naturally.

Introversion and social anxiety are the themes of the new single by Galway garage-rock/indie-pop band Dott - 'Extra Introvert', which features a video with band singer and leader, Anna McCarthy, attempting to overcome Lockdown Anxiety by using her phone to make positive connections...with lots of dogs.

'Extra Introvert' was recorded in a cottage in Leitrim with Frankie Pollard (Oh Boland ) and mastered by Steve Fallone (The Breeders, Alvvays ). It was recorded during sessions for Dott's third album, the follow up to 2018's Heart Swell (Graveface Records ). However the pandemic has, for there time being, brought the recording to a halt. Given the brilliance of Dott's music, we hope it will not be for too much longer.
