Galway singer releases charity single for COPE

'Lost Dog Loyal' was recorded in Tuam's two recording studios - Sunstreet and The Stables

DARRAGH O'DEA, the Tuam singer-songwriter releases his new single, 'Lost Dog Loyal' tomorrow [Friday June 12], with all proceeds from its downloads going to COPE Galway.

The single can be downloaded from www.darraghodeamusic.com for €1.99, with the money going to support COPE's work with individuals dealing with domestic violence or homelessness and to support vulnerable elderly people (people can pay more for the single if desired as all profits go straight to COPE ).

"It's a song about being loyal and dedicated to a relationship and finding beauty in growing together," says Darragh. "The bones of the song were recorded with Kenny Ralph in Sunstreet Studios in Tuam, pre-lockdown. Additional recording was added by Mixer Connolly in The Stables, also in Tuam, in recent weeks, which he then emailed back to Kenny to mix it altogether. A fine job by the two titans considering the circumstances."

A video for the single, featuring clips of people from all over the world dancing at home during lockdown, and edited by Tuam artist Jojo Hynes, is also set to be released in the near future.
