Start the weekend with laughter

Róisín Dubh's Friday Night KARLnival is online with Terry Alderton, Micky Bartlett, and Sally-Anne Hayward

TERRY ALDERTON is no stranger to Galway, having perfumed at the city's Vodafone Comedy Carnival on numerous occasions, and tomorrow Galwegians will see Terry perform his first online show.

The Róisín Dubh Comedy's Friday Night KARLnival returns tomorrow (Friday June 12 ) with performances from Terry (Live At The Apollo, Eastenders ); Micky Bartlett (BBC's The Blame Game, Monumental ), and Sally-Anne Hayward (regular MC at Glastonbury Festival Cabaret Tent ); with Karl Spain as MC.

The show takes place on Zoom from 8pm, and the two-way real-time engagement will give the experience the feel of being at an actual comedy club, but in the comfort of your home.

Terry Alderton, winner of The Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality, has been praised for his "dizzying inventiveness" by The Times, while Eddie Izzard proclaimed him a “very funny comic with a fantastic comedy mind, but someone who really ought to seek some sort of professional help”.

Terry's comedy is unpredictable, surreal, outrageous, and via 'The Voices' - two hilarious voices in Terry’s head representing different sides of his ego/conscience - often unpredictable. No two Terry shows are ever the same, and as tomorrow's Comedy KARLnicval appearance will he his first online show, we can expect something special.

Micky Bartlett is one of Northern Ireland’s fastest rising stars on the live stand-up circuit. Chortle.co.uk called him "a stand-up natural with a great command of the audience and engaging everyman approach...Impressive!". Adam Hills of The Last Leg said of him: "In years to come, people will be talking about the first time they saw Micky Bartlett".

Sally-Anne Hayward combines the things you should never like about your best friend's mum with the sensibilities of Jack the Ripper. She has appeared on Absolutely Fabulous and Why The Long Faces, and as the warm-up for Deal Or No Deal. Chortle.co.uk has praised her "innate effusive likeability", while The Independent called her "exceptionally funny".
