Why you should consider an MBA at NUI Galway

Some of NUI Galway's 2019 MBA graduates talk about their experience.

Klaus Göttsche graduated from the MBA programme last year, and the experience has seen major positive changes in his career.

"I graduated from hotel management at GMIT in 2003 and after several years with a successful Galway employer, I wanted to challenge myself personally and professionally," he said. "In 2017 I was successfully accepted onto the NUI Galway MBA, and such was its impact on me I changed my career halfway through.

"I applied for a position at MathWorks, the US-based mathematical computing software company that had recently opened a fast-growing and energetic office off Eyre Square, and joined the team in June 2018.

"After a demanding two years, I graduated from the MBA in 2019 with first class honours. Its benefits were immediate: MathWorks recognised my new skillset and asked me to take on more responsibilities in our expanding office."

Emer Mullins is also extremely happy with her experience on NUI Galway's MBA programme.

"I studied journalism in the 1990s and subsequently worked in journalism, communications, and public affairs," she said. "Since 2011, I’ve been a senior leader at Oxfam – a complex global development organisation where my role focuses on strategy, finance, and innovation.

"I chose NUI Galway because I felt their MBA closely matched my needs – with dedicated, focused, groups working closely on projects supported by academic advisors. The experience was tough but so rewarding, and I have made friends for life. I learned so much across a range of subjects and was able to apply that practically to various internal business situations immediately.

"I would highly recommend NUI Galway’s MBA. It has helped me develop my leadership skills and changed my life in such a positive way."
