Peggy’s Bar & Restaurant — quality food to take away

Peggy's Bar & Restaurant, situated in Aucloggeen, Claregalway, directly across from Annaghdown GAA grounds, is renowned for its good food and great service, and has built up a very loyal clientele over the past seven years under the management of Aiden Leonard.

Using as many local ingredients as possible and employing local people, all the food is cooked using the restaurant's own recipes.

Reacting to the changing times we are in, Peggy's has begun offering a call and collect service, as well as a takeaway service (adhering to social distancing guidelines ).

"We are delighted to be able to offer an extensive takeout menu for people to choose from, freshly cooked to order," said Aiden Leonard.

Menu options include roast beef, turkey and ham, Connemara lamb shank, farmhouse duckling, with all the trimmings, as well as a children's menu. For those with a sweet tooth, there is a dessert menu, as well as a drinks menu.

To avail of Peggy's collection service, visit its Facebook page for this week's menu and the day's specials (Sunday lunch menu is posted each Thursday ). Call in your order to 091 793587, between 3pm and 9pm Monday to Thursday, 12 noon to 9pm Friday and Saturday, or Sunday 12 noon to 5pm. Payment is taken over the phone or on collection.

Aiden Leonard added: "We thank our customers for their support down through the years in Peggy's, and through these difficult times. We look forward to the day that we can reopen Peggy's as a restaurant, as well as our sister bar and restaurants, McHugh's on the Tuam Road and The Red Gap in Barnaderg. Until then, we would like to wish everyone good health."
