A Lilac Decline releases new single

A dreamy summer track which perfectly sums up our recent spell of fine weather

CHIMING CHORDS bathed in hazy reverb and suffused with lush psychedelic tones go to create a sound which captures the feel and experience of this recent spell of fine weather.

This is 'Sunset Song', the new single from Galway's A Lilac Decline (the indie/shoegaze/folk-rock alter ego of visual artist Cecilia Danell ). The track has the density and weight of shoegaze, yet conversely a lightness of touch, which coalesce to give a sense of dreamy balm.

Danell's voice muses beautifully on summer evenings, sitting on the grass by the river, and ends with the refrain, "We'll be fine, we'll be fine", a real antidote for these times, and a reminder that the lockdown is not our lives in perpetuity.

The single will be released via the Independent Galway label, Rusted Rail, tomorrow [Friday May 1] and can be streamed or bought from www.rustedrail.bandcamp.com The track will be featured on A Lilac Decline's forthcoming second album.
