The annual May Bank Holiday sale at Áibhéil Bridal Wear in Adare, Co Limerick, starts this year on Friday May 1 at 10am, with late opening on Friday until 9pm and open right through the bank holiday including Sunday and Monday.
It’s an event not to be missed if you want to make a genuine saving on your wedding gown and accessories. Customers travel from all over Ireland to this sale, and are delighted with their bargains.
Dresses will be on sale from designer 2009 collections of Pronovias, Manuel Mota, La Sposa, David Fielden, Alan Hannah, Ritva Westenius, Toi Couture, Maggie Sottero, Atelier Aimee, Model Novias, and Kate Sherford. Many dresses are shop samples in pristine condition; others are brand new, all at heavily discounted prices.
Áibhéil has often been described as being ‘precious’ about its dresses. Staff politely ask all their customers not to wear fake tan or bronzing products while trying on dresses so that the dresses remain in pristine condition.
“It is the one thing that is most commented on by our customers, that our dresses are so clean and in perfect condition,” says owner Ann Gilvarry. “This is great news for sale goers who can purchase their sample wedding dress at knockdown prices, up to 70 per cent off the retail price. Accessories are all 50 per cent off and shoes are available at €50.
“We have sales twice a year, and they really are worth waiting for. We move our stock quickly, to make room for new stock, so don’t be surprised to see the dress you’ve been ‘googling’ on sale at Áibhéil. There is an array of sizes so please ask for help. There will be experienced staff available to assist brides with choice of dress, veil, shoes, and accessories.

Áibhéil of Adare will be open throughout the bank holiday weekend, and no appointment is necessary.
Opening hours are Friday May 1, 10am to 9pm; Saturday May 2, 10am to 6pm; Sunday May 3, 12 noon to 5pm; and Monday May 4, 12 noon to 5pm. The sale will end at 5pm on Monday May 4.
