Skint Video's Steve Gribben for the Comedy KARLnival

Guitar wielding comedians songs are 'firmly based in rock'n'roll and pull no punches'

STEVE GRIBBIN is a guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs, and off the wall observations, are firmly based in rock‘n’roll and pull no punches.

Gribbin, who has been going strong since the 1990s, headlines the Comedy KARLnival at the Róisín Dubh on Tuesday March 3 at 8pm. For nine years, Steve was one half (along with Brian Mulligan ) of the comedy duo Skint Video, who became stalwarts of the Edinburgh Festival, appearing on countless television programmes such as Saturday Live, radio such as The Mary Whitehouse Experience, and their own show in 1992/3 Songlines (BBC Radio 1 ).

Support is from Corkonian Kevin O’Sullivan, a rising star of the Irish comedy scene. After honing his unique style of comedy off-Broadway in New York, he returned to Ireland and now regularly hosts and headlines Dublin's most prestigious comedy clubs.

Support is from Leonie McDonagh. The MC is Karl Spain. Tickets are €6 in advance from Róisín Dubh; www.roisindubh.net; or OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; or €8 at the door.
