GET OUT your umbrella and your dancing shoes as the much loved musical Singin’ In The Rain will be performed by the Galway Musical Society in the Town Hall Theatre.
Singin’ In The Rain will run from Tuesday April 28 to Saturday May 2 at 8pm. There will be a gala opening night on Tuesday with a champagne/wine and finger food reception from 7pm. There will also be a matinee on Saturday May 2.
The musical is a romantic comedy which charts Hollywood’s move from the silent era to the ‘talkies’. As well as the immortal theme song, it also features such other popular numbers as ‘Make ‘Em Laugh’ and ‘You Were Meant For Me’. The production will feature detailed tap routines and superb singing amid stunning sets.
The show is produced and directed by Sean and Brian Power. The musical director is John Roe, the choreography is by Mary McDonagh, the chorus director is Paddy Day, the lighting director is Derek O’Neill, and the stage manager is Leonard Power.
The show stars Eoin Croffey (Donald O’Connor ), Louise Colohan (Lina Lamont ), Karl Doherty, Marcus Wynne, Tara O’Carroll, Simon Cannon, Ursula Owens, Kevin Griffin, Francis Conneely, Ailbhe Slevin, Kenneth Long, and Kenneth Kennedy.
