Are you a business owner, human resource manager/director, training and development professional, engineering or production manager, an educator, a social worker, or a health care professional? Have you ever wondered what really goes on in the minds of your employees at work, and would you like to be able to apply a little psychology when getting things done within your organisation?
This one-year part-time programme in business and executive coaching is a highly experiential programme and has a strong psychological underpinning. It will provide you with the skills to help develop yourself and also to develop people in your teams. The training programme will cover communications skills, including active listening, paraphrasing, clarifying, summarising, and responding to the employee’s frame of reference. Participants will have an opportunity to set goals for themselves, and to help others set goals.
Individuals will learn about leadership styles, how they sabotage themselves, and how they limit themselves with self-limiting beliefs. The programme is a particularly effective way for participants to enhance their emotional intelligence in life and work, and to develop the skills to coach others both personally and professionally.
The programme leaders are Mike O’Halloran and Evelyn P Gilmore. Mike O'Halloran has a master’s in counselling and a European Certificate in psychotherapy. He is a registered psychotherapist and supervisor with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy. Evelyn P Gilmore has a first class honours master’s in work and organisational psychology, is a registered psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, and is completing a doctorate in organisational consultancy with the Tavistock in London.
Coach Institute of Ireland is the longest established coaching training provider in the country. The style of learning on this coaching programme is highly experiential and hands-on.
Many individuals who have completed the programme find it has a transformational impact on their lives and work. The next business and executive coach training programme will begin in Galway on Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3. The programme will be facilitated two full days a month from April to December, with a break for July and August.
The programme is accredited by the worldwide coaching organisation The Association for Coaching. This programme has also been approved for continuous professional development credits for members of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
