New tech start-up JourneyBid.com set to revolutionise Galway’s private bus hire industry

JourneyBid.com, a new technology start-up based in Galway has announced the launch of its new independent online road travel platform, a one stop marketplace, that enables bus companies to interact directly with passengers to arrange and secure transport.

The taxi industry is very well serviced online with apps like Free Now, Lynk and Uber but the private bus industry has lagged behind in this area up until now. With JourneyBid’s online marketing platform operators can significantly increase business while also saving time and money for their passengers.

The most recently published Goodbody report into the private bus and coach industry in Ireland states that it operates more than 234m vehicle miles per annum and has an estimated turnover of €307m.

Speaking about the launch Tracy Hadnett,

JourneyBid’s Managing Director said they have had an overwhelming response from private bus companies about the launch of our platform with hundreds of them now registered from every county in Ireland.

“Passengers no longer need to carry out time consuming, costly searches for private bus hire, either online or by phone. Our system provides them with direct quotes from bus companies for comparison online sent directly to their email inbox and their private dashboard on the website.

“It saves so much time and money and is very simple to use. It’s the perfect solution for corporates, sports or social groups looking to travel,” she said JourneyBid.com does not own any fleet, it acts as a broker, receiving commissions from each booking.
