Fianna Fáil TD for Galway West, Éamon Ó Cuív said he has made strong representations in relation to the road going from Cashel Cross to Carna which requires significant upgrade works.
Deputy Ó Cuív said that the road is in poor condition and needs an urgent upgrade.
“I will be continuing to press that this road will be upgraded in 2020 and that a suitable allocation will be made to it. There has been a complete neglect of rural Ireland under Fine Gael. Our road network in Connemara has not been immune from this neglect and requires investment.
“There is a need for all these regional roads in Connemara to be upgraded and I believe that it is imperative that after the election, the strategic Gaeltacht Roads Initiative will be reinstated,” concluded Deputy Ó Cuív.
