Accredited one-year business and executive coach training programme

The next Coach Institute of Ireland one-year business and executive coach training programme will begin in Galway on Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3. The programme will be facilitated two full days a month from April to December, with a break for July and August.

This one-year part-time programme is highly experiential, and many individuals who have completed the programme find it has a transformational impact on their lives and work. The programme is an excellent development opportunity for managers/directors, business owners, human resource professionals, organisational psychologists, organisational consultants, and healthcare professionals. In addition, the programme will be pertinent to engineering and production managers, training and development professionals, educators, social workers, and allied professionals who wish to develop and enhance their personal and professional skills.

The programme will cover key communication skills, including active listening, paraphrasing, clarifying, summarising, and responding to the client’s frame of reference. Participants will have an opportunity to set goals for themselves, reflect on their values, and explore their self-limiting beliefs. Individuals will learn about leadership styles, how they sabotage themselves, and how to develop their intuition. The programme is a particularly effective way for participants to enhance their emotional intelligence in life and business. In addition to exploring the above, participants will develop the skills to coach others both professionally and personally.

The programme is accredited by the worldwide coaching organisation The Association for Coaching. In addition, this programme has also been approved for continuous professional development credits for members of the Psychological Society of Ireland.

The programme leaders are Mike O’Halloran and Evelyn P Gilmore. Mike O'Halloran has a master’s in counselling and the European Certificate in Psychotherapy. He is an accredited psychotherapist and supervisor with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy. Evelyn P Gilmore has a master’s in workplace and organisational psychology, is a registered psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, and is completing a doctorate in organisational consulting with the Tavistock in London.
