New Year poetry workshops at Galway Arts Centre

Kevin Higgins to teach new series of classes for beginners and experienced in January

PEOPLE INTERESTED in finally getting around to writing poetry, or who are interested in doing so but do not know where to start, can check out the new series of classes by leading Galway poet Kevin Higgins.

The classes start in January in the Galway Arts Centre, Dominick Street, and will be suitable for different levels of experience. Classes for complete beginners and those who have been writing for some time, take place on Tuesdays (7pm to 8.30pm ), starting January 28, and Fridays (2pm to 3.30pm ), starting January 31.

The Thursday class (2pm to 4pm ), starting January 30, is an advanced poetry workshop, suitable for those who have participated in poetry workshops before or had poems published.

Kevin is the author of the poetry collections, The Boy With No Face (2006 ), Time Gentlemen, Please (2008 ), Frightening New Furniture (2010 ), Song of Songs 2.0: New & Selected Poems (2017 ), and Sex and Death at Merlin Park Hospital (2019 ), all published by Salmon Poetry
