A major event will be hosted by Galway Corinthians RFC this Saturday to raise money for COPE Waterside Women’s refuge.
The luncheon will get underway with a drinks reception at 12.30pm and it will be a day of full entertainment with lots of spot prizes and music on hand throughout the afternoon.
COPE Galway Waterside Women’s Refuge provides safe emergency accommodation for women and children who need a place to go, to stay safe from abuse.
It offers women, who take the step to leave an abusive home, a safe place to stay while they consider their next steps and explore the options available to them. Our residents have the space to reflect and make decisions on what’s best for them and do so without fear, pressure and while free from abuse.
Each family has their own sleeping/living space and shared bathrooms. The refuge is staffed 24 hours a day and women are encouraged to avail of the support of the staff members during their stay.
