Elf and the Home Alone movies at the Omniplex

Festive film favourites get the big screen outing in December

OMNIPLEX CINEMAS will be cranking up the nostalgia with seasonal big screen outings for three Christmas film favourites - Elf, Home Alone, and Home Alone 2 - as part of its #BringItBack classic movie screenings.

The season begins with the much loved Elf (screening December 6 to 12 ). After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, Buddy, who was adopted and raised by Santa's elves, is sent to the US in search of his true identity. It stars Will Ferrell, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, and Bob Newhart.

"We forgot Kevin!" 1990's Home Alone (December 13 to 19 ) is back on the big screen due to phenomenal demand. Last year's Omniplex screenings sold out nationwide. When Kevin McCallister gets his Christmas wish for his family to disappear he is forced to defend his home on his own by decking the halls with ingenious traps to hold his two burglaries at bay.

1992's Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (December 20 to 24, including special 3pm Christmas Eve screening ) sees Kevin board a plane to New York while the rest of his large family head to Florida. In Manhattan, he takes up residency at the Plaza Hotel, but his posh holiday is disrupted by the re-appearance of crooks Harry and Marv.

Tickets are €12 and advanced booking is recommended via www.omniplex.ie
