THE WRITERS Kevin Doyle, Riona MacEoin, David Green will read from their work at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading, which takes place in the Galway City Library on Thursday November 21 at 6.30pm.
Corkonian Kevin Doyle's short stories been published in The Stinging Fly, The Cork Review, Southwords, and the Cúirt Journal. He has been shortlisted for the Ian St James Award, the Hennessy Literary Award, and the Seán Ó Faoláin Prize, and he won the Michael McLaverty Short Story Award in 2016.
With Spark Deeley, he co-wrote the award-winning children’s picture book The Worms that Saved the World. He is the author of two political crime thrillers published by Blackstaff Press. His other novels, To Keep A Bird Singing (2018 ) and A River of Bodies (2019 ) explores Special Branch collusion with a network of abusers inside the Catholic Church.
David Green hosts Off The Page, a monthly open-mic for writers and poets in Athenry. He has had several short stories, covering science-fiction, horror, and historical fiction, published in online and print media. Riona MacEoin is the co-owner of the Briarhill Vet Clinic in Galway. She also volunteers with Foróige, and writes fiction.
The MC will be Susan Millar DuMars. There will be an open-mic after the featured readers. New readers are welcome. Admission is free.
