Sophie Coyle to play new songs in Galway

Singer-songwriter to perform songs inspired by Latin American journeys

A RECENT journey through South America has inspired a new set of songs which is likely to make up the second album by Galway born singer-songwriter Sophie Coyle.

Galway is likely to get a preview of some of those new tracks when Coyle and her band - Caroline Whately (bass/guitar/vocals ), Sharon McArdle (piano/harp/accordion ), Conor Taaffe (drums ), Shane Byrne (percussion ) - play the Black Gate Cultural Centre, St Francis Street, tomorrow at 8pm.

Coyle's debut album, Blame Me For The Storm was long-listed for Album Of The Year in the Choice Music Awards. Irish Music Magazine called it "delightful on every level"; The Irish Times said, "whether she’s conjuring up magic or brewing up something darker, Coyle’s voice and narrative takes charge on the assertive". She was recently shortlisted for the International Songwriters Competition.
