WANT TO rock out and raise funds for charity? You can do both at the Galway Autism Partnership's LipSync Battle in the Clayton Hotel on Sunday October 27 at 7pm.
Last year's event raised more than €18,000 to support Galway’s local autism charity, and the organisers are hoping to equal or surpass that total. So what is involved? Individuals or teams get to pretend to be a rock star, pop diva, or legendary band by lip-syncing to their most iconic hits on stage. The act can be solo, duet, or a big group of friends or work colleagues. The best act is chosen by the audience and judges and is crowned the Stars of GAP LipSync Battle 2019.
Rehearsals are half an hour a week and are led by choreographer Jay Molyneux. No experience (or talent ) is necessary. The LipSync Battle will raise much needed funds for GAP. The charity receives no multi-annual State funding and relies on the support of the community in Galway to sustain its work.
Those wishing to take part should contact GAP (091 - 588899 or [email protected] ). Tickets to attend the event are available via www.galwayautismpartnership.com and on the door on the night.
