Partners Baboró and Medtronic shortlisted for two awards

The success of the nine-year partnership between Baboró, the international festival for children, and Medtronic has been recognised in this year's 28th Allianz Business to Arts Awards.

They have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Long Term Partnership’ and ‘Best Small Sponsorship’ categories of these awards, which recognise businesses, artists and art organisations that develop creative partnerships through sponsorship, staff engagement, commissioning, CSR initiatives or community engagement.

Since 2010 Medtronic has supported Baboró’s annual festival and are exclusive sponsors of the ‘Creative Connections’ strand of the festival.

‘Creative Connections’ offers children and adults the opportunity to enjoy interactive art experiences together. Last year the partnership enabled the conversion of the Connacht Tribune’s former print works into ‘The Wonder Works’ which featured the STEAM challenge, Roaring Rockets, the live drawing experience, ‘Wonder Walls’, and an interactive art experience with Toodelou Creativity Lab, ‘The Colour Factory’.

Medtronic’s continued support enables Baboró to continue its mission to inspire children to engage with the world through their experience of the creative arts.

The 28th Allianz Business to Arts Awards has attracted nominations from a diverse range of partnerships and events from across Ireland. Winners will be announced on the evening of Tuesday September 3 in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.

Medtronic continues its supporting of the festival which is taking place from October 14 to 20. ‘Creative Connections’ will return once again and details of this strand and the full programme will be announced at the Baboró festival launch on Monday September 2.
