Leaving and Junior Cert tuition, study skills classes, and adult Irish courses at Galway Study Centre

Bookings have been ongoing since early July for the weekly after school and Saturday classes which the Study Centre at Mill Street is offering to sixth year, fifth year, and Junior Cert students from September 16. An extensive range of subjects is available with a good choice of times, particularly at Leaving Cert level. Leaving Cert and fifth year study skills classes will commence from Wednesday, September 25, and will run once a week for four weeks.

A special Leaving Cert Irish course will also get under way from Thursday, September 19, for mature students who require a H4 or above to enter a primary school teaching programme.

The Study Centre was set up in Galway 35 years ago years. Central to its success story is a team of highly motivated and experienced tutors who work diligently and efficiently to maximise each student’s potential to obtain good grades. Their creative approach provides an enjoyable learning experience. It is an approach that has paid off every year in terms of superb Leaving Cert results.

The director of the Centre is Paul Lawless, who is especially happy with the feedback from the Leaving Cert students who received tuition at the centre during the 2018-19 academic school year. The vast majority accomplished their goals and obtained the points required for their courses. Lawless maintains that the extra tuition they received throughout the year, in addition to the teaching given in their regular schools, combined to give them the knowledge, skills, and confidence to attain some exceptional examination grades. An excellent standard in grades was achieved across all the subjects offered during the year, with at least 95 per cent of higher level maths students obtaining bonus points.
