Fianna Fáil TD for Galway-West, Éamon Ó Cuív, has been informed that the National Transport Authority (NTA )/Bus Éireann will introduce a new timetable providing additional services to Leitir Meallain, An Cheathrú Rua in the very near future.
Deputy Ó Cuív said that he has repeatedly raised the need for additional evening bus services from Galway City to Leitir Meallain. There has been ongoing dialogue with the NTA to fight for at least three additional evening services each way.
“In their correspondence to me I understand the NTA are in the process of finalising a new contract for the route,” he said.
“Progress has been very slow, and I have been promised several times that these services will be provided. I am confident, that at last, we are getting to a point which will see these extra services in operation.
“In my dialogue with them I will ensure the exorbitant fares are to the fore of discussions and call for them to be reduced,” concluded Deputy Ó Cuív.
