Going global for BPW Galway Summer Lunch

Galway’s Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW ) will host their Annual Summer Lunch in The Ardilaun Hotel on Friday June 28. The hugely popular business networking event proudly supported by KPMG has already generated huge interest this year following the success of the BPW European Conference held last month in Galway.

This year the lunch will feature the theme of ‘Going Global’ and will both acknowledge and celebrate some of Ireland’s female trailblazers who have had a significant impact in their community and beyond through their chosen careers and professions.

The much anticipated business networking lunch will feature guest speaker Ruth Curran, Managing Partner of MERC Partners. Ruth, a proud Galwegian and a graduate of NUI Galway has 20 years’ experience in executive search, focussing on senior executive, C level and board appointments across many industries both at home and abroad.

The Galway native went Global in 2011 when she served as Director of IIC Partners, one of the world’s largest executive search organisations. She was promoted to the position of Vice-Chair EMEA IIC Partners in 2013 before being appointed to the Global role in October 2015 serving in this position until last year.

In addition, Ruth sits on the Diversity Committee of the AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants ). She is a board member of the National Maternity Hospital Foundation. She was awarded NUIG Business Alumni of Year 2016 and the WXN award, one of Ireland’s, most powerful 25 businesswomen in 2018.

The business lunch will commence with a drinks reception at 11:45am, followed by a four-course sumptuous lunch with wine. A charity raffle in support of Childline Galway promises a huge array of fantastic prizes.
