Volvo crowned most dependable premium brand

The success of Volvo's transformation as a car manufacturer has been recognised with the award for the most dependable premium brand in the JD Power 2019 UK vehicle dependability study.

The study's findings put Volvo ahead of all its market competitors, according to the opinions expressed by more than 11,000 motorists. Volvo owners gave the brand the highest ratings of any premium car maker.

Mark Lendrich, head of research at JD Power Europe, says long-term reliability has a direct impact on today's sales and tomorrow's brand loyalty.

"The 2019 UK vehicle dependability study premium brand award underlines that Volvo is able to satisfy the demanding group of premium customers when it comes to vehicle dependability."

The JD Power study, now in its fifth year, measures problems experienced during the past 12 months by the original owners of vehicles after 12-36 months of ownership. It examines 177 problem symptoms across eight categories. The 2019 study is based on responses from 11,530 owners of new vehicles registered between November 2015 and January 2018. It was undertaken between November 2018 and January 2019.
