Bluesman Shawn James to play the Róisín

Chicago singer-songwriter in concert in the city this weekend

THE MISSISSIPPI Delta and the south side of Chicago, the land where the blues was born and the city where the blues went electric, can be be heard in the voice and the songs of Shawn James.

The blues, folk, and soul singer-songwriter, Shawn James, a native of Chicago, and a member of the band The Shapeshifters, plays the Róisín Dubh on Saturday May 18 at 8pm.

James has released four albums to date - Shadows (2012 ), Deliverance (2014 ), On the Shoulders of Giants (2016 ), and last year's in-concert album, Live At The Heartbreak House. He is about to release his fifth, The Dark & The Light, via indie label Parts + Labor Records. It was produced and recorded by Jimmy Messer, who has also worked with The White Buffalo.

His songs have been featured on HBO, CBS and Sony Playstation’s The Last of Us 2. 'Through The Valley' topped Spotify’s Global Viral Charts, while generating more than 60 million streams combined on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
