A soulful choral concert in St Nicholas'

The Shippensburg University Concert Choir is coming to Galway

STUDENT CHOIRSTERS from Pennsylvania are coming to Galway tomorrow to perform a special concert, entitled Soul Music, at St Nicholas Collegiate Church at 8pm, in aid of COPE.

The Shippensburg University Concert Choir, a 24 voice ensemble of men and women aged from 18 to 26 years, will perform a mix of classical and contemporary music, including works by American and European composers, and featuring spirituals, hymns, folk songs, and choral classics. The musical director is Elizabeth Lins Shoenfelt.

The singers are auditioned from across the faculties of the university and are not music students. They has toured extensively in the USA, but this will be their debut tour of Ireland, with shows also taking place in Belfast and Dublin.

Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be taken for COPE.
