Eddie Hoare, a native of Circular Road, Galway will contest the upcoming Local Elections as a Fine Gael candidate in Galway City Central. A Chartered Accountant, Eddie was educated in NUI Galway and has recently joined the family accountancy practice, Hoare Chartered Accountants, as director of Audit and Advisory.

Despite it being his first run for public office, Eddie has always been actively involved in both local and national politics.

“All of my adult life I have been involved in politics and played an active role in numerous successful local and general election campaigns. I work in the professional services industry, engaging with people and providing solutions. I am very passionate about our City and its people and it is for this very reason that I have decided to enter local politics in the firm conviction that I can make a difference.”

Eddie is no stranger to public life having captained his county Galway at all levels of adult football. The St. Michaels clubman is very aware of the important role sporting clubs and other societies play in the local community.

“Regular exercise and active involvement in team sports are key ingredients for positive mental health and wellbeing. Further investment is required in sporting, recreational and amenity facilities in our City to ensure greater participation and inclusion.”

With only three weeks to go until Election Day, Eddie and his team are looking forward to meeting and engaging with more of his constituents.

“I am grateful for the brilliant support I have received from my family, friends and wider community. It is vital that our community has local representation in City Hall and I will endeavour to use my experience and energy for the betterment of the citizens of Galway.” Eddie Hoare can be contacted on 087-9863350, by email on [email protected], or on Facebook.
