The hotel school at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT ) is holding its annual Careers Fair on Friday April 24 for students and anyone interested in a career in the hospitality, retail and tourism industry.
Over 40 hotel groups and recruitment companies in the sector are expected to attend the event which takes place in the Institute’s Café Foyer in the Dublin Road campus from 10am to 12.30pm.
Graduates of the school and colleagues from the Hospitality & Tourism Industry throughout the country will attend the event and answer queries on job prospects, career trends and opportunities in the industry.
Cáit Noone, Head of the GMIT Hotel School, says that while the annual event helps Hotel school graduates find jobs and learn about their career options as they finish college in May, it is also about providing information to job seekers.
“We wish to assist those currently seeking jobs in the industry. Many unemployed people in this region may have managerial skills or prior hospitality experience and our industry is always looking for great team leaders and operators”.
“I would advise anyone attending to come prepared and bring current copies of their CV along,” she said.
GMIT Hotel School offers a range of programmes in hospitality, culinary arts, tourism, retail and event programmes.”
