Catherine Fleming and A Fear Of Colour

Galway artist explores anxiety in new exhibition

A FEAR Of Colour may sound like a strange title for a visual artist to have for an exhibition, especially when colour is such a striking aspect of the works of Catherine Flaming.

A Fear Of Colour, the artist's new exhibition, is based around the theme of anxiety. "I tried to portray the often overwhelming experience of panic through the bold colours and patterns surrounding the figures in my paintings," the 22-year-old says. "I hoped to demonstrate visually what so many experience and struggle with throughout their daily lives while suffering from anxiety."

The exhibition is running is throughout April in the Brazco Cafe, Oranmore. For more information see Catherine Fleming Artist on Facebook and Instagram.
