Inni-K - new album, Galway gig

Singer-songwriter draws on folk, Irish trad, avant-garde, and indie

INNI-K, "one of ten fierce women defining Irish culture," according to RTÉ, released her second album, The Hare and The Line, in March, while this month sees her play an intimate show in Galway city.

The Dublin-based singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter Inni-K (aka Eithne Ní Chatháin ) plays the Black Gate on Friday April 12 at 8.30pm. Her set wil feature songs from The Hare & the Line as well as her 2015 debut The King Has Two Horse’s Ears.

Inni-K's music draws on her background in folk/trad, and combines this with avant-garde elements, indie-pop, ethereal vocals, and evocative, bilingual, lyrics. The Irish Times said of The Hare And The Line: "Inni-K emerges...with greater depth to her music...[she] sounds revitalised on this resplendent indie-folk offering.”

“Most of the songs on this album were written over the past year or so," said Inni-K. "There is a more organic quality to these songs I feel – perhaps an ease and a looseness that has come from playing and working together with the musicians on the record and the team involved in helping make it happen. It has been a very creative winter, and I can’t wait to bring these songs out in the spring!”
