Advertiser launches new publication aimed at tourists

The Galway Advertiser will today launch its first new print publication in a decade with the arrival of #Galway — a free events and What’s On guide aimed at the hundreds of thousands of tourists who visit the city and county annually.

The publication will be distributed and free of charge to city hotels, tourist offices, and transport hubs, with plans to expand this network further in the coming months.

#Galway which will also have an accompanying online and social media presence, where it will provide articles, features, and details on events and attractions available to visitors to the city and county.

The publication will be printed weekly at the Irish Times print facility at Citywest in Dublin and will be available in the city every Thursday morning.

Galway Advertiser entertainments editor Kernan Andrews who will oversee the content for the new publication said that it will help generate new audiences for the arts and entertainment sector in the city and county.

“It is both a new departure and a continuation of our ongoing commitment to the arts in Galway, to its musicians, comedians , theatre practitioners, visual artists so that we can bring their work to the widest audience possible, both local and visiting,” he said.
