GALWEGIANS AGED from 15 to 24 who are interested in graphic novels, and would like to get involved in the production of a comic, should check out a new project from the Red Bird Youth Collective.
Red Bird Youth Arts Collective, a free visual art group for young people in Galway city and county, will meet on Saturdays for a graphic novel/comic book project with artist Barry Keegan, culminating in an exhibition at the Galway Arts Centre. The first workshop is at 11am this Saturday at the Arts Centre on Dominick Street. Workshops are free of charge, and all materials will be provided. All are welcome but must fully commit to attending the workshops.

Barry Keegan is the creator of The Bog Road, a dark fantasy tale set in Laois and published in 2018 by Atomic Diner. It won Overall Best Irish Comic at the 2019 Irish Comic News Awards. He is also the author of The Shadow Realm, a mini-comic focussing on the physical dangers facing MMA fighters.
