Return of the handsome philanderer

Galway Film Society to screen French film, Return Of The Hero, at Pálás

A HANDSOME philanderer, a pining wife, and a sister who embodies the warning that 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions', are the stuff of French film, Return Of The Hero.

Return Of The Hero, starring Jean Dujardin (The Artist ) and Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds ) is the opening film of the Galway Film Society's new season of screenings at the Pálás Cinema.

Captain Neuville is called to war, leaving his fiancée Pauline heartbroken. When Pauline does not hear from Neuville for months, her sister Elizabeth hatches a plan to write her fake letters from Neuville, making him out to be a hero - a plan that will cause a lot of confusion once he returns. The Hollywood Reporter called it "a good old fashioned corset comedy" while Time Out Australia said it had "shades of Pride and Prejudice".

The film will be screened this Sunday and Monday at 6.30pm. For tickets contact 091 - 394800 or see www.palas.ie
