Galway Film Fleadh seeks short films

Entries in drama, documentary, live action, and animation are welcome

THE GALWAY Film Fleadh has opened i's short film submissions for the 31st festival, which runs from July 9 to 14. Entries in drama, documentary, live action, and animation are welcome.

Winners of the fleadh's short film awards, the James Horgan award for Best Irish Animation and the Tiernan McBride Award for Best Irish Short Drama, will qualify for Oscar consideration. Previous winners include Lenny Abrahamson, Kirsten Sheridan, Ken Wardrop, Rebecca Daly, Kate McCullough, and Tim Flemin.

The fleadh accepts all types and genres of short film under 40 minutes, as well as picture-locked rough cuts. The deadline for submission is Friday May 17 at 5pm. The entry fee is €20. For more information see www.galwayfilmfleadh.com
