Red Bird Let Go at Galway Arts Centre

Poetry, video, and sound comes together in new collaborative show

THE CREATION of a video piece, where poetry, moving image, and sound work together, is the basis of a new exhibition at Galway Arts Centre from Red Bird Youth Collective.

The exhibition, entitled Let Go, is a collaboration of Red Bird; the poet Colm Keegan, a poetry/arts reviewer and contributing poet for RTE Radio 1’s Arena; and Galway based visual artist Gabrielle Drimalovski.

.

Red Bird initially invited Keegan to facilitate a word project which explored, using different methodologies, issues of identity, character development, and exploratory/experimental documentary, within a poetry framework. Over 12 weeks the group created work developed from this individual, process-based research, with Drimalovski facillitating the production of a video piece and photographs to augment the written work.

Let Go runs until Saturday February 16. Admission is free. Red Bird is open to new members. To apply email [email protected] or call 091 - 565886.
