Maree women will be in confident form when they take Swords Thunder in the National Cup semi-final in the Neptune Stadium in Cork on Saturday (4pm ).
Maree defeated the Dublin side 88-59 in the first game of the season in Dublin, and they will be hotly fancied to advance to the cup final, with either Ulster Elks or Portlaoise Panthers providing the opposition at the end of the month.
Their form this season has seen them bag 10 wins from 10 in all competitions, and on Saturday they brushed aside the challenge of UL Huskies by 97-46 in league action.
Joe Shields’ side broke the 90 point barrier for the second time in three league games as Dayna Finn marked her return from injury with a game-high 22 points in a comfortable win for the home side.
In all, Maree had five players hit double figure scores in a game that was as good as over by half-time, with Maree enjoying a 54-21 lead.
Claire Rockall, who picked up her second player of the month award, was once again in imperious form, hitting 18 points, with Catherine Connaire (16 ), Maggie Byrne (14 ), and Fiona Scally (13 ) also hitting double digits.
