Looking Up with Chris Kent

Comedian's new show examines challenges of a comedy career, fatherhood, and being an Irishman in Britain

CHRIS KENT has spent the past year balancing his comedy career with being a stay at home dad, trying to grow a beard, and removing the word 'mate' from his vocabulary, as "it takes too much effort to say in an Irish accent".

These, and other challenges of daily life, will be examined in Chris's new solo show, Looking Up, which he brings to the Town Hall Theatre studio on Thursday January 24 at 8.30pm.

Chris has appeared in the hit series The Young Offenders and on Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central for Comedy Central. He is no stranger to critical acclaim, with the Edinburgh Festival magazine calling him an "unequivocally talented raconteur"; The Scotsman declared him a "compelling storyteller"; while Broadway Baby described him as an "extremely endearing performer".

Tickets are available from the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
