New Galway orchestra to play two shows in 2019

Luminosa Music to play Galway Cathedral in April and June

THE CONTEMPO Quartet, and Paul Ezergailis, co-principal of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, part of a new orchestra which was launched recently in Galway - Luminosa Music - wil pay two concerts in the city this year.

This new, professional, orchestra, was founded by Lucy Hayward, and also features violinist Gergely Kuklis, former concertmaster of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra; violinist Áine Kelly, a deputy with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and Irish Chamber Orchestra; Péter Sébestyen, a member of the Concerto Malaga chamber orchestra; and Teresa Turner, current principal double bass with the Irish Symphonic Wind Orchestra.

Luminosa Music will play two concerts in Galway Cathedral in 2019. The first, in April, will feature music by Jane O’Leary, Joan Trimble, Rachel Holstead, and Elizabeth Maconchy.
