FOLLOWING DAVID Keenan's Other Voices show in Dingle las month, Tony Clayton-Lea Tweeted it was a "contender for gig of the year", describing the singer-songwriter as the "offspring of Van Morrison, The Waterboys, and The Frames".
Nialler9 has called Keenan "one of Ireland’s premier folk talents", while Hotpress went as far as to say: "Not just another young lad with an acoustic guitar, Keenan is the sound of Tim Buckley and Brendan Behan arguing over a few jars, while Kavanagh deals Dylan a suspicious hand of cards, and Anthony Cronin and Jack Kerouac furiously try to scribble it all down."
Galway will be able to see what the excitement is about when Keenan plays the Róisín Dubh on Sunday December 16 at 8pm. This year he released the Strip Me Bare Vol 2 EP, which Nialler9 called "a lyrical masterclass. One which takes a keen interest in the idiosyncrasies of the nation and its culture", while this month, saw the Evidence Of Living EP. Keenan called it, "a journey into the ivory womb of intimacy, of friendship and unity which belongs to us all, which was written for us all, which pines for us all and us for it".
