THE MUSICAL Steps is the title of a show and performance which will be given by Galway folk-rock/prog-rock band Croí8 when they play the Town Hall Theatre studio next week.
The band - Barry Hurley (drums/vocals ), Sinéad Bracken (flute/keys/vocals ), Dmitry Lazarev (guitar ), Joanne McCormack (vocals ), Peter Lawlor (bass ) - fuses prog, indie, folk, and rock through alternative guitar tunings, neat rhythms, and melodic flute embellishments.
The show takes place on Thursday December 13 and Friday 14 at 8.30pm. The band will be joined by singer-songwriter Michael O'Connor, and together they will create The Musical Steps, "whereby the audience is stepped through a unique listening adventure". Croí8 will also perform songs from their latest album, One Step Closer.
Michael O'Connor opens both nights. His country/folk music can be heard on the albums Market Plaice (2017 ), I’m Not Myself In Character (2013 ), and Octopus Tattoo (2006 ). He won the John Arden Award in 2015 for his poem called 'Sanctimonious-ness'.
