General Paints Group has launched its highly anticipated new designer paint brand, Curator, created in collaboration with some of Irelands’ finest designers and artisans.
Curator comprises 144 vibrant and whimsical colours, inspired by 29 Irish designers, including Galway based designer Ronnie Graham, available in five finishes, coming together to form one beautiful collection.
Inspired by Ireland’s expressive design community, Curator was conceived by General Paints Group to reflect the creativity and talent in Ireland. The company set out to celebrate the vibrancy and colour of Irish design and bring this to life in homes in a designer paint brand.
Having travelled across Ireland, sourcing and collaborating with Irish artisans — from potters and milliners to jewellers — colours were identified from their designs to produce a carefully curated palette of colours, with each telling a tale of Irish culture and inspiration.
Bog oak sculptor Ronnie Graham began carving in Belfast in 1980, and now lives and works in the west of Ireland. He believes the bog is an entity, living and breathing, at the heart of Ireland. “The bog wood seems to emit a haunting power,” he said. He uses 5,000-year-old bog oak as the inspiration for his sculptures. His Curator colour, Ancient Black, reflects the layers of his sculptures.

Curator is available in select stockists nationwide. Prices range from €32 for 1L to €99 for 5L.
