Galway’s Kilkerrin-Clonberne have claimed this year's Connacht Ladies Senior Club title decider, dashing Carnacon's quest for a second successive All-Ireland title.
It was Kilkerrin-Clonbern's first crown since 2015, and goals from Ailish Morrissey, skipper Louise Ward and Galway’s 2004 All-Ireland winning captain Annette Clarke proved the difference, winning 3-4 to 1-8 victory.
Having lost out to Carnacon in a replayed Connacht final last year, it was sweet revenge for the Galway side as Cora Staunton’s 1-7 was not enough for Carnacon on Saturday.
Kilkerrin-Clonberne will now face Cork and Munster standard-bearers Mourneabbey in the All-Ireland semi-final on the weekend of November 17/18.
In the JFC final Naomh Anna Leitir Moir (Galway ) lost out to Tourlestrane (Sligo ) 3-12 to 1-15, while St Brendan's (Galway ) were easy winners over Westport (Mayo ) by 6-7 to 0-3. St Brendan's will not face Clontarf (Dublin ) in the final.
